Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 21, 2026

This policy covers The Trade Companion desktop app and the app's website at desk.thepurposedriventrader.com (together, the "Services"), operated by L&T Kingdom Enterprises ("we," "us," "The Purpose Driven Trader"). It is written to be read: the short version is that your trading work stays on your computer, and everything we do collect is listed below, completely.

The short version

Categories of information we collect

1. Name and email (website form and in-app sign-in)

Name, email address, app version, and signup source. Used to deliver the download link, send onboarding/setup help, and send our trading-content newsletter. Legal basis: consent. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our mailing address; opt-outs are honored promptly (CAN-SPAM). Unsubscribing does not disable the app.

In-app sign-in works by one-time email code: you enter your email, we email you a short code (sent via our transactional email provider, Resend), and the app stores a signed activation license locally on your machine. If you are a Purpose Driven Trader Academy member, the sign-in check also verifies your membership so the app can unlock the Pro report suite; the app re-verifies that entitlement periodically (an email-based membership check — no other data is sent).

2. Pseudonymous usage statistics (in-app, default on, visible off switch)

Counted events: app installed, app opened, chat created, strategy saved, report generated (by kind), report card shared (by kind), a tool error occurred (tool name + coarse error class only — never message content), and clicks on locked Pro features.

Each event carries a random install identifier (UUID) generated on your machine, the app version, and the platform. This identifier is not derived from and is never linked to your name, email, or sign-in. Two places receive this data:

We cannot practically identify you from any of this — but because the install ID is a persistent identifier, we treat it as personal information: it is included in deletion requests, and uninstalling the app or clearing its data resets it. Turning the Settings toggle off stops sending and deletes the local queue.

3. Opt-in error reports ("Report to PDT")

Only when you click the button on a failed tool: tool name, the error text, app version, and OS version. No chat, chart, or strategy content — though error text can occasionally include technical details from your machine such as file paths. Reports are filed as private GitHub issues and reviewed only for debugging.

4. Website server logs

The website and our API run on Vercel, which keeps standard, short-lived server logs (as any web host does). We set no cookies, run no website analytics, and use no third-party trackers on the site.

What the app fetches (which tells us nothing about you)

The app periodically downloads public content files from our GitHub repository: assistant guidance notes, prop-firm rule data, and announcements/promotions. Auto-updates are served the same way (GitHub Releases). These are ordinary HTTP downloads; we run no server that logs your identity for them.

What third parties receive, under your own accounts

What we never collect

Chat transcripts and message content · Pine Script / strategy code · trade lists, uploaded trade records, and backtest data (uploads are analyzed and stored locally only) · chart screenshots · API keys (Anthropic or data providers) · brokerage or financial account information · payment information (nothing is sold in the app) · precise location · any category of sensitive personal information.

Categories of third parties (our processors)

We share personal information only with service providers that process it for us, bound to use it solely for our purposes: EmailOctopus (email list), Resend (transactional sign-in and download emails), Vercel (website/API hosting), Upstash (managed Redis for the counters above), PostHog (product analytics), and GitHub (content feeds, releases, and opt-in error reports). We may also disclose information if required by law.

We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral / targeted advertising, and we never will. No third party collects personal information about your activity across other sites through our website (there is nothing on the site to do so).

Do Not Track

Our website does not track visitors, so it does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals — there is no tracking to turn off.

Retention

Your rights — everyone, everywhere

Email tyler@thepurposedriventrader.com to access, correct, or delete your personal data. We honor these requests from anyone, in any state or country, without thresholds, within 30 days. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. EU/UK visitors: the Services are operated from the United States and directed to a US audience; if GDPR nonetheless applies to you, the legal bases are consent (email list) and legitimate interest (pseudonymous product statistics), and you may withdraw consent at any time.

Children

The Services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it — contact tyler@thepurposedriventrader.com.

Changes to this policy

We will update the effective date above, and for material changes we will note the change in the app or by email before it takes effect.
